Plans are currently underway to open Tex-Mex restaurant Los Tios at the Plaza in the Park shopping center, located at 5192 Buffalo Speedway.

While restaurant officials said they’re hoping to open the first week in June, a finalized date is still pending while city permits are being finalized.

Started by the Garbett family in 1970 and purchased by the Adair family in 2000, Los Tios has been a Houston Tex-Mex eatery for nearly 50 years, according to their website. Guests can expect the restaurant’s signature menu items, including fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, nachos, margaritas as well as the puffy quesos which are a crispy shell served with chile and cheese.

The West U restaurant will be Los Tios’ sixth location operating in Greater Houston, with its flagship location at the Galleria and other locations including Meyerland, Sugar Land and Memorial.
