Officials from St. Luke’s Health said they anticipate opening the O’Quinn Medical Tower April 14 at the Baylor St. Luke’s McNair Medical Campus, located at 1919 Old Spanish Trail, near the Texas Medical Center.

While the existing McNair Hospital Tower opened in 2019, the newest addition is a 12-story tower that adds more than 400,000 square feet to the McNair campus, according to hospital officials, who stated that $1.3 billion was invested into the campus.

“The building itself is incredibly important. It’s a powerful testament to a number of individuals and what they committed to our community, the Houston community,” St. Luke’s Health CEO Doug Lawson said during a 2021 ceremony with individuals involved in the project.

The O’Quinn Medical Tower will be an outpatient care facility and the new clinical home for their comprehensive cancer center. The medical tower expands the ambulatory surgery center with 12 new operating rooms and 10 new endoscopy suites. It will also include more than 70 exam rooms, as well as state-of-the-art imaging and treatment equipment.

Amenities to the site include balcony gardens, curated artwork, food, retail and green space.

Guests can enter through two new access points from Old Spanish Trail and Cambridge Road. At least 850 spaces were allocated for on-site parking.
