Construction of the Dr. Shannon Walker Neighborhood Library at 5505 Belrose Drive, Houston, has been delayed “due to supply chain issues and rising costs of materials,” according to an update from District K Houston City Council Member Martha Castex-Tatum’s office.

Design of the new state-of-the-art community library, named for NASA astronaut and Houston native Shannon Walker, began in January 2020.

Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023 and be completed in mid-year.
