After a month of consistent declines in the weekly average of new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the Texas Medical Center, new cases have remained flat over the past week with no increase or decrease, according to the TMC’s key takeaways report published April 25.
Over the week of April 18-24, there was an average of 351 new cases reported per day, according to the TMC. The same per-day average was reported the previous week, spanning from April 11-17.
Week over week, there was a slight rise in coronavirus-related hospitalizations with Texas Medical Center institutions reporting an average of 59 new hospitalizations per day, compared to last week's 42 hospitalizations per day.
Harris County’s coronavirus threat level remains moderate, meaning unvaccinated individuals are advised to continue to wear masks and social distance.
