LaGina Harris—founder of The Us Space, a collective intentionally designed for women of color professionals and women-led organizations—announced in a Jan. 8 news release her plans to open a workspace for businesses at Downtown Houston's Niels Esperson Building in early February.

About the program

The organization provides flexible workspaces for its members, a digital platform to foster collaboration and a community of other business owners. According to the news release, this community amplifies women and people of color in business by encouraging individuals to "confidently show up, take up space, and share their business offerings."

The Us Space also boasts access to venues for organizations to rent for workshops, as well as training and networking events.

Who it's for

Per its website, the location of The Us Space was strategically selected to cater to communities of color, near opportunity zones and several revitalization initiatives within the city of Houston.
