“Thanks to the generosity of many, we are incredibly fortunate to be in a location that puts our clients steps from key amenities like grocery stores, minutes from the Texas Medical Center for appointments and in close proximity to excellent public schools,” Bellinger said in a release.
The former apartment building is already operational and can serve up to 13 families, with a staff of four full-time employees and about 40 volunteers. The facility allows families to stay together during cancer treatments for up to eight weeks at a time.
The project is slated for full completion in 2020, and naming opportunities are available for the 16 units for donations of $150,000 each.
