Almost a year ago, League City announced Amazon would open a $30 million, 180,000-square-foot delivery station at 2455 Tuscan Lakes Blvd.

Now, the project, originally expected to open early this year, is on hold.

According to League City officials, Amazon is waiting "a bit" to open the facility, but it is still planned to be completed. Officials did not provide an estimated opening date.

League City officials also said they do not know what led to the decision to pause the project. In the meantime, the facility will remain empty.

"It is obviously a little disappointing that it will not open as soon as possible, but we believe it will still be open soon," said David Hoover, director of planning and development.
