After League City City Council’s unanimous approval at its Feb. 9 meeting, Lelia Southern Settings will open at an undetermined date at 720 2nd St., League City. The business will be a venue for small events, such as weddings and bridal and baby showers, set in a historical building. The man who created the Galveston seawall once lived in this house, and the granite beneath the house came from the same quarry as the seawall, officials said.

In late January, the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce announced re:3D, 1100 Hercules Ave., Ste. 220, Houston, had won a Tibbetts Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The award honors small businesses at the forefront of technology, and only one other Houston startup won such an award. The 3D printing company was founded in 2013 by NASA contractors Samantha Snabes and Matthew Fiedler to tackle large-scale 3D printing challenges. 512-730-0033. www.re3d.org
