Lobit Park in League City will close until spring 2026, starting Oct. 13, for what officials called major improvements.

The closure comes after League City City Council’s decision to award a $2.35 million contract to Houston-based B&D Contractor for the upgrades at its Sept. 23 meeting.

The project will be divided into two phases.

Phase I
  • Addition of six pickleball courts
  • Baseball field upgrades
  • Pedestrian bridge repairs
  • Drainage improvements
  • New security lighting installation
Phase II
  • 1,800-square-foot picnic pavilion
  • Fitness course
  • Multipurpose athletic fields
  • Hiking trail
  • Additional restrooms
  • Additional parking
Looking ahead

The park will reopen at the end of Phase I, which is scheduled to be completed in spring 2026, and will remain open for the project’s second phase.
