Community Impact previously reported that from fiscal year 2023-24 to FY 2027-28, League City will invest a total of $14 million in the asphalt project, according to city documents. The bulk of that money is for construction, while roughly $1 million is for planning and design.

Some of what was approved Jan. 14 is package eight of 11 total asphalt road projects throughout town, Community Impact reported in September. Package seven began work in the fall and is expected to wrap up in February.

Packages nine through 11 are expected to be bidded out and constructed in future years.

What’s next?

The terms of the agreement with HR Green begin on Jan. 20 and will expire on July 31, 2026, according to agenda documents.
