Climate Now, an organization aimed at educating the public about climate change, will host a series of public workshops in the Bay Area to engage several coastal communities on topics like carbon management and local government energy projects.

The workshops, which the U.S. Department of Energy sponsors, are meant to help residents and business stakeholders understand how carbon management could be incorporated into the Bay Area’s energy sector, according to a Sept. 30 news release from Climate Now.

The details

Each workshop will begin with an exhibitor open house at 4 p.m., followed by the formal program from 6-8:30 p.m, according to the news release.


The workshops are open to the public and will take place in Beaumont, Pasadena and Texas City on the following dates:
  • Oct. 8, 4-8:30 p.m. at the Beaumont Event Centre, 700 Crockett St., Beaumont
  • Oct. 9, 4-8:30 p.m. at the Health & Safety Council, 5213 Center St., Pasadena
  • Oct. 10, 4-8:30 p.m. at the Nessler Center, 2010 5th Ave. N, Texas City
Spanish translation services will be available for each meeting, according to the release.
