Clear Creek ISD high school students have until Feb. 18 to enroll in new dual credit opportunities for the 2026-27 school year made available through partnerships with San Jacinto College and College of the Mainland, according to a Feb. 11 news release from the district.
“This exciting expansion reflects our continued commitment to prepare students for life beyond graduation,” Superintendent Karen Engle said in the release.

The dual credit opportunities provide high school students with additional pathways to earn college credit and industry-based certifications while completing high school, according to the release.
Through the College of the Mainland, students can enroll in:
- Petrochemical process technology: foundational coursework connected to petrochemical and industrial operations
- Instrumentation and electrical technology: hands-on learning aligned with advanced manufacturing and energy careers
- Welding technology: industry-aligned training in multiple welding processes
- Culinary arts: instruction in food preparation, safety and baking fundamentals
Through
San Jacinto College, course offerings include:
- Process technology: coursework supporting careers in refining and chemical processing
- Welding technology: progressive skill development aligned with workforce expectations
- Maritime transportation: introductory studies in maritime science, seamanship and shipping operations
- Air conditioning technology: technical instruction in refrigeration, electrical systems and climate control
- Cosmetology: professional coursework focused on hair design, coloring and industry practices
What you need to know To enroll, students must meet the district’s dual credit requirements and complete the community college enrollment process, including any placement or testing requirements, according to the release.
The courses will take place at the partnering college campuses. Once enrolled, students are responsible for providing transportation.
