Enrollment at
Clear Creek ISD has declined by over 1% since the 2023-24 school year and the trend is expected to continue, according to a report from demographic firm
Zonda Education.
The overviewCCISD currently has around 39,700 students enrolled. Enrollment forecasts project enrollment will decline to about 35,840 students by 2034, according to Zonda.
Although enrollment is declining, Clear Falls, Clear Lake and Clear Springs high schools have reached overcapacity this school year. Clear Falls and Clear Springs High Schools are still projected to be overcapacity in the 2025-26 school year, Zonda data shows.
Diving in deeperCCISD has 27 actively building subdivisions, and 21 future subdivisions in various stages of planning, most of which are on the southwest side of the district near Campbell and Gilmore Elementary Schools, according to Zonda.
Green indicates active lots, yellow indicates future lots and red indicates groundwork underway.
CCISD’s Executive Director of Communications Elaina Polsen said residential growth is seen in the campuses nearby, causing those specific campuses to grow.
Polsen also noted there’s not a lot of new younger families coming into neighborhoods within the district’s boundaries. That, along with rising cost points of homes, may not be attracting younger families to reside within the district, Polsen said.

- Nearly 840 vacant developed lots
- Over 8,300 future lots
