Students in a construction class at Clear Creek High School built a record-breaking adirondack chair and unveiled it in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 6.

The gist

The chair is 20 feet tall, and is the largest built chair by trade skill students in Texas, according to a Dec. 3 news release from Clear Creek ISD.

The chair is also the largest adirondack chair ever built, designed and fabricated by Clear Creek High School students in various construction classes, according to the news release.

The chair is currently awaiting the process for a Guinness World Records representative to evaluate the chair as the largest adirondack chair, the news release reads.

What else?

The city of League City is also collaborating with the students to incorporate the chair into the city’s public art initiative.

The initiative launched in May 2021 with the goal to “bring more public art, art-related events and art programming to League City,” according to League City’s website.
