The survey consists of two options, according to the district’s website.
Both drafts have Aug. 13 as the first day of school for every grade except pre-K, kindergarten, sixth and ninth grade, which will begin school on Aug. 12, district documents show.
The main differences between the two options are the proposed holidays and professional learning days in October and February, the news release reads.
Both drafts propose student holidays on the following dates for the 2025-26 school year:
- Sept. 1 and 29
- Nov. 4, 24-28
- Dec. 22-Jan. 2
- Jan. 5 and 19
- Feb. 16
- March 9-15 and 20
- April 3
- May 25

The CCISD board of trustees has final authority regarding adoption of the district calendar. It is still undetermined of when the board will adopt the district calendar.
The final version of the district calendar may also be subject to change as a result of mandates by the Texas Legislature or inclement weather, the news release reads.
