Officials with Great Wolf Lodge Texas Gulf Coast in Webster marked the completion of vertical construction on Aug. 30, and the resort is projected to open on Nov. 15, 2024.

Bryson Heezen, director of development for Great Wolf Lodge, said the resort can open earlier if construction milestones are achieved in the coming months.

Turner Construction placed the final external building block of the structure, commencing the topping-off event.

What they’re saying

Betsy Guisto, economic development director of Webster, said Great Wolf Lodge will be the “hospitality anchor” for the area.

"Tourism is very important to the city, as it means visitors coming in here, infusing new money uncirculated into our economy,” Guisto said.

Guisto said the project couldn’t be accomplished without the collaboration from the project's partners and the city.

“It takes a team who will understand the vision and the importance of bringing something like this here," she said.

“This journey has been truly gratifying,” said Andy Tandon, vice president and general manager of Turner Construction. “The fact that we've accomplished [Great Wolf Lodge] with over 300,000 man-hours and without a single lost-time incident underscores our shared dedication to safety and excellence."

In case you missed it

The groundbreaking for the resort took place on Sept. 22, 2022. The resort is being built to the east of the Gulf Freeway and south of the NASA Bypass, within the Flyway at Clear Creek development.
