As of July 11, Galveston County had seen a total of 5,873 cases of COVID-19. That is an increase of 553 since July 9.

July 10 had 310 new cases—the highest amount in a single day since the pandemic reached the county. July 11 had 243.

Despite the major spike in cases since early June, the number of deaths has stayed relatively flat.

Four residents died from the coronavirus July 10. Another four died July 6, and another five died July 1. Other than those 13 deaths, the county has not seen a resident die from the coronavirus since June 2.

This is despite the fact the county has seen far more cases in the last six weeks than the first three months of the outbreak.

Of the 5,873 cases, 4,172 are active; 1,647 have recovered; and 54 have died. League City has seen the most cases in the county at 1,342, followed by Galveston at 1,182.
