Jazz music enthusiasts will soon be able to attend a series of free concerts in February, March and April in League City.

The gist

In partnership with the radio station KTSU-FM and Galveston Bay Brewing, League City will host Saturday Night Jazz, a free concert series in League Park from 7:30-9 p.m. on select Saturdays, city officials said in a Feb. 13 newsletter.

Featured musicians will include saxophonists Stephen Richard and Kyle Turner, as well as The Mark Dini Group. Food trucks, Galveston Bay Brewing and Soulfreak Railroad Cafe will be at the park to sell food, pastries, beer and non-alcoholic beverages, according to city officials.

Prior to each concert, KTSU radio personality Todd Parker will host a one-hour interactive lecture from 6-7 p.m. across the street at 144 Park Ave., Ste. 400, which will feature storytelling, vinyl music clips and a Q&A session, according to Eventbrite. The lecture costs $12 to attend, and includes a League City swag bag and a commemorative poster.

Space is limited for the lecture, so event organizers encourage those interested to sign up through Eventbrite.

One more thing

During the concert series, South Shore Harbour Resort will offer special room rates, according to League City’s website.
