Bell joined 130 fellow representatives in approving the House draft of the budget. The budget draft will continue on in a conference committee between the Senate and House for further negotiations.

Huffman was appointed to sit on the Senate and House budget conference committee, a role she held in the 2015 session, and will work to reconcile the multi-million dollar difference between the two budget drafts.

Kolkhorst's Senate Bill 6, which regulates bathroom use based on gender of a person at birth, has been in the House for more than a month without a committee assignment. Lawmakers are wondering when it will be.

Schofield voted for an amendment on HB 39, which seeks to solve problems within Texas' CPS system, that would prohibit vaccines for children in CPS temporary custody. The amendment was approved in a close vote.

Zerwas, the chair of the House Appropriations Committee, was named to the House and Senate budget conference committee. He will co-lead the group in negotiating changes for one final budget.
