With 100 percent of voting results released from precincts in Fort Bend and Harris counties, Democrat incumbent Al Green wins U.S. representative District 9 with 151,884 votes, or 80.64 percent.

"My constituents elect me to work with whoever is elected, and I plan to demonstrate my ability to do that by extending the hand of friendship to whoever is elected alongside me," Green said.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Harris County has reported voting results from 818 precincts. Al Green leads with 138,509 votes, while Martin has 32,902 votes.

Harris and Fort Bend counties released unofficial early voting results showing that incumbent Al Green is in the lead with 112,543 votes, while Jeff Martin earned 26,290. Democratic incumbent Al Green is facing off against Republican candidate Jeff Martin for the U.S. Rep. District 9 title during the Nov. 8 election.
Green took office Jan. 6, 2015, beginning his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the Financial Services Committee, the Housing and Insurance subcommittee and the Oversight and Investigations subcommittee where he holds the position of Ranking Member. With the Democratic party, Green holds the title of Assistant Whip.
Martin, a Houston native, is challenging Green on topics he is passionate about, such as repealing and/or replacing the Affordable Care Act, rebuilding the economy and securing Texas' border.
