Main Event Entertainment begins construction this fall on a location in Humble.
Main Event Entertainment, a bowling-anchored entertainment center, is planning a Humble location near Costco in Townsen Landing Village.
Construction will begin this fall, said Adam Smith, vice president of development for Foremark Development. Foremark is the development representative for Main Event, he said.
The Humble City Council approved a plat for Main Event during a July 28 meeting at city hall.
The 50,000-acre facility is planned on a 6-acre site and will feature a more modern design than Main Event's other Greater Houston locations. It will offer bowling, laser tag and a restaurant among other activities, Smith said.
"This [Main Event's design] is a look no one in Houston has seen yet," Smith said. Most of our units in Texas feature the old design."
“The city is already well established as a great retail destination,” Stuebe said. “The addition of a major entertainment chain like Main Event will compliment that nicely by providing a fun and interactive experience for families throughout the area.”
Main Event has two Greater Houston area locations that offer bowling, a laser tag arena and pool, as well as a pizza café and a full-service bar. The events center could add about 100 jobs to the area, according to Main Event.
