Trattoria Sofia, the newest concept from Berg Hospitality Group, is slated to open Nov. 26 at 911 W. 11th St., Houston, offering what owners say will be rustic Italian food in a romantic setting. The eatery was originally slated to open Nov. 19, but the opening was delayed as officials wait on the replacement of a gas pipe.
"We truly apologize for any inconvenience, and we are obviously doing everything in our power to open our doors and start serving guests as soon as possible," owner Benjamin Berg said in a Nov. 18 statement. "I am so proud of how the food and the overall décor and vibe turned out, and I can’t wait for Houstonians to finally experience it next weekend.”
The menu will specialize in modern takes on classic Italian dishes, according to a Nov. 12 press statement from Berg Hospitality. The menu was developed with help from the acclaimed chef Magnus Hansson alongside LJ Wiley, who will serve as the eatery's executive chef.
