Texas House of Representatives District 146 covers parts of south and southwest Houston. This includes neighborhoods such as Sunnyside, Brays Oaks, Westbury and the Willowbend area.
Key players
Incumbent Lauren Ashley Simmons ran unopposed in the March primaries for the Democratic bid. Simmons assumed office in January 2025 and is seeking re-election on the November ballot.
The Republican candidate, Alexandria Nicole Butler, advanced from the primaries as well after running unopposed.
Preparing for the polls
In Harris County, early vote centers will open Oct. 19 at 7 a.m. and remain open through Oct. 30. The deadline to apply for a mail ballot is October 23.
On Election Day, vote centers across the county will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents can view more voting center information on the Harris County Clerk's Office website.
