New Houston Heights diner Agnes and Sherman promises a modern but cozy atmosphere and Asian American comfort food.

The restaurant, co-owned by Lisa Lee and Nick Wong, is now open on 19th Street, according to an April 16 news release. Named after chef Wong's parents, Agnes and Sherman's dishes are meant to be shared family-style, but can also be enjoyed by small parties or solo diners.
According to the release, menu highlights include a savory scallion waffle with sambal honey butter, Taiwanese disco fries and crawfish egg foo young. Other items include crispy rice cakes, fried kimchi and al pastor fried rice.
