Transwestern, a commercial real estate company, is bringing a new 17-acre, mixed-use development to the intersection of West Alabama Street and Buffalo Speedway near River Oaks.
The development, known as The RO, will be a retail village consisting of local chef-driven restaurants, boutiques, and a luxury multifamily tower with boutique offices, rooftop gardens and ground-level retail amenities.
The RO will also be the site of Houston's first ultra-luxury Auberge Resorts Collection's hotel and residents. The Birdsall is a 105-room boutique hotel with 44 private residences.
According to a May 16 news release, the entire development is designed to look as it if evolved organically with antique and handmade brick, cobblestone streets, low-rise building and public green spaces.
