528-acre master-planned community coming soon to Waller

Real estate development company Hines has purchased 528 acres in Waller to build a master-planned community, according to a Nov. 1 news release from the development company.

The master-planned community, located north of Hwy. 290 along Binford Road, will consist of approximately 1,400 single-family homes with various lot sizes available, according to the release.

Nearly 1 in 3 Katy ISD students will be dual language learners by 2027

Katy ISD's enrollment is projected to exceed 100,000 students by 2027, and a projected 30% of new enrollees are expected to be emergent bilingual students, or students for whom English is a second language, according to Population and Survey Analysts, a demographic firm cited by the district.

TxDOT hits milestone, reopens key ramp at Loop 610, I-69 interchange

Crews with the Texas Department of Transportation reopened a key ramp at the Loop 610 and I-69 interchange Oct. 29 as they work toward full completion of the project in mid-2024.

The connector ramp from southbound I-69 to southbound Loop 610 reopened in late October after being closed since 2022, TxDOT officials said. That portion of the project required total freeway closures during various weekends over the summer and fall.

Sound Revolution to move vinyl record collection to Louetta Road in Spring

Sound Revolution—a music store that was originally opened in 1976—will be relocating to the Spring area. The business is owned by Sunne Walton and Donnie Mcclure, and offers vinyl records, tapes and CDs as well as T-shirts, skateboards, jewelry and gift items.
