Texana Center announced May 9 it received a $150,000 gift from Houston-based Fondren Foundation toward building the first of three phases of its new Fulshear campus near the intersection of Wallis Street and FM 359. Thanks to the donation and other gifts, Texana needs about $60,000 more to reach its goal for the first phase, Texana Community Relations Manager Andi Wallis said in an email. In April 2018, the nonprofit held a groundbreaking ceremony, but infrastructure such as sewer and water lines had not been installed on the property. Construction on the first building is expected to start in the coming months, Wallis said in March. This article is part of our 2019 Health Care Directory.
