The facility, which officially opened May 2 at 9645 Barker Cypress Road, Ste. 200, is designed to address a growing demand for a variety of specialized treatment services. Erin Bingham, a physical therapist at the center, said many of the services offered were previously only available closer to the city of Houston. “We really don’t have anything like this out here in Cy-Fair,” she said. The center offers sport and injury-specific evaluations and matching rehabilitation services for anyone from geriatric patients to middle school athletes, Bingham said. State-of-the-art equipment designed to help rehab patients includes the Biodex Balance System, the MRS Functional Squat Device and the Alter 6-Anti Gravity Treadmill. The facility also provides access to several specialty programs. For example, patients with pelvic problems can enroll in the pelvic floor rehabilitation program. This new service line focuses on helping patients regain control over their muscles to eliminate issues with urinary incontinence, urinary urgency and pelvic organ prolapse. Doctors are currently working on an as needed basis. Even though the clinic has only been open for a week, Bingham said doctors have seen their fair share of patients already, and expect to see more as time goes on. Ron Simon, director of sports medicine with North Cypress, said the new facility is following up on community requests to bring state-of-the-art medical services closer to home. “It’s all the tools it takes to rehab athletes to be fully healed,” Simon said.
