Colleyville to host annual Christmas tree lighting celebration Dec. 3

The city of Colleyville is kicking off the first weekend of December with its annual Christmas tree lighting celebration.

On Dec. 3, the city will host the tree lighting at the plaza and south lawn at Colleyville City Hall, 90 Main St., Colleyville, according to the city’s Nov. 19 newsletter. The free event will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The event will include an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, live reindeer, carriage and trackless train rides, a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, a carousel, face painting, balloon artists, caricature artists, a Christmas monkey, stilt walkers, food trucks, a Christmas farmers market, a light tunnel and 3D light attractions, according to the city’s website.

In addition, the event will feature a drive-in movie from Blue Moon Cinemas, which will show “Claymation Christmas Classics” in the south parking lot, the website stated. Attendees will be able to tune in to 89.5 FM from their cars.

The event will also feature choir performances from various local schools. Inspire Academy’s choir will perform at 5:35 p.m., Colleyville Elementary School choir at 6 p.m., Bransford Elementary School choir at 6:25 p.m., O.C. Taylor Elementary School choir at 6:50 p.m. and Heritage Elementary School choir at 7:15 p.m. Garden chairs will be available for seating.

At 7:50 p.m., Compass Church Kids Worship will perform followed by Miss Colleyville Chloe Sifford at 8:15 p.m. to close the event.
