Everything voters need to know about voting in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Board of Trustees runoff election

Nov. 23 marks the first day of early voting in the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD runoff election. Candidates Coley Canter and Tommy Snyder will compete for Place 5 on the Board of Trustees ahead of the Dec. 8 election.

Voters will be able to cast ballots in person Nov. 23-25 and Nov. 28-Dec. 4. Polls will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 23 to Nov. 25 and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 28 and Nov. 30 to Dec. 4. On Sunday, Nov. 29, they will be open from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The REC of Grapevine at 1175 Municipal Way and Colleyville City Hall at 100 Main St. are the closest voting locations to GCISD, but voters may cast votes at any early voting location in Tarrant County.

Voting locations at the REC of Grapevine and Colleyville City Hall will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on election day, Dec. 8.

Applications for mail-in ballots must be submitted by Nov. 25. They can be submitted by mail to Early Voting Clerk, PO Box 961011, Fort Worth, TX 76161‐0011, by fax to 817-850-2344, or by email to [email protected]. The original copies of applications submitted by fax or email must also be mailed.

To be eligible to vote by mail, voters must meet at least one of four requirements: being away from their county on election day and during early voting; being sick or disabled; being 65 years of age or older on election day; or being confined in jail but eligible to vote, according to the state.

Tarrant County ranked in the top 50 counties for early voter turnout in Texas during the Nov. 3 general election, surpassing 2016 turnout. No candidate for the GCISD Board of Trustees Place 5 seat received more than 50% of the vote, sending Canter and Snyder, the two candidates with the most votes, to the runoff election. Candidate Lori Crenshaw did not progress to the runoff.
