GALLERY: Smart Quest Academy holds ribbon cutting ceremony in Southlake

The Southlake Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 7 for Smart Quest Academy.

Owner Karla Aleman said the preschool will serve children from 18 months to 5 years old. The business opened in June with summer camps and will start the 2025-26 school year Aug. 12, according to previous reporting.

Signage on the school showcases it's a bilingual Science Technology Engineering Arts Math, or STEAM, school. The academy will offer immersive language development in both English and Spanish.

In addition, Aleman said the school will offer Spanish classes for students in kindergarten to 5th grade as part of after-school programming.

Before and after the ribbon cutting, attendees were provided free ice cream as part of the festivities from the Texas Ice Cream truck.
