More people are buying homes in Georgetown as prices go down, a report released Tuesday found. According to April real estate data from the Austin Board of Realtors, single-family homes were purchased in Georgetown at nearly twice the rate year-over-year as the rest of Williamson County. Georgetown saw an increase of 14.5 percent of single-family homes sold year-over-year, whereas Williamson County saw a 7.6 percent increase from April 2017 to April 2018, the report said. But while Georgetown home prices have decreased nearly 7 percent compared with April 2017, the median price of a Georgetown home is higher than a Williamson County home. Throughout Williamson County, which saw a year-over-year price increase of 3.6 percent, the median price of a single-family home in April was $285,000, nearly $10,000 less than the median price of homes sold in Georgetown during that same time frame.
