Rachel Sloan assumed the role of chief operating officer of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital on June 1, according to a news release.

In the position, Sloan will support the growing community's needs. She will oversee daily operations, using her prior experience leading major health care facility modernization projects, per the release.

The background
Sloan earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Texas A&M University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, the release states.
She previously served as the vice president of operations at Parham Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Additionally, she was an associate administrator at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio. In 2024, Sloan joined St. David’s Medical Center as vice president of operations.

While serving as vice president of operations for St. David’s Medical Center, Sloan led the planning and opening of the St. David’s Emergency Center in Manor, the launch of an on-site obstetrics clinic and played a significant role in expanding cardiac MRI capacity, according to the release. Her leadership in key construction and expansion initiatives led to multiple facility improvement projects.
