“We are excited to welcome Clay to Georgetown,” GISD Superintendent Devin Padavil said in a news release. “He joins our team at a pivotal moment in public education. While funding for education lags across the state, we are proud to be operating on a balanced budget. Clay’s experience shows he is ready to help us navigate the future for the benefit of students.”
The district also named Brenda McDonald as GISD's new chief technology officer and Reese Weirich as the new executive director of elementary teaching and learning during GISD’s June 15 board meeting.
McDonald previously served as coordinator of federal programs for Bryan ISD, according to a news release. Her responsibilities will include managing the district's technology infrastructure and leading the district's cybersecurity and data governance efforts.
Weirich, a former Pflugerville ISD principal, began her new role planning GISD’s instructional and curriculum services June 22.
