With fewer 30 days left until the May election, candidates for Georgetown ISD board of trustees Places 6 and 7 submitted their most recent campaign finance reports April 2. The reports detail expenditures and donations from the beginning of January through April 1.
GISD Place 7 incumbent Ben Stewart's campaign raised $1,844. Notable contributors include Place 3 trustee Andy Webb and Place 5 trustee Melanie Dunham, according to the reports. GISD Executive Director for Communications Melinda Brasher also contributed to his campaign. A combined total of $502 was contributed by Webb, Dunham and Brasher, the report said.
Stewart has spent about $3,013, approximately $2,338 of which has come from personal funds.
One of Stewart's opponents, Stephen Benold, raised $6,225, per reports. Financial campaign reports for another opponent, Jeff Siegismund, are not yet available, as he has filed a modified report and has not gone over his $930 spending limit, district officials said. Benold's expenditure total was $8,039, the report said.
