The city of Georgetown will update Chautauqua Park to include a renovated restroom, new landscaping and replace playground equipment.
About the project
The $525,000 project is anticipated to begin construction in November, according to the city’s project page. Proposed upgrades include:
- Improving the pavilion, including new picnic tables and a barbecue grill
- Replacing the playground, accommodating ages 5-12, with a younger children’s area possible
- Adding a swing set
- Installing decorative play features on the park pathway
- Resurfacing the basketball court, adding benches and trash cans
- Creating an open turf area for recreation
The projected timeline shows park improvements will be completed by April 2027.
