Despite the closing of nonessential businesses, Georgetown’s slowdown of collected sales tax revenue was less than projected.
Sales tax revenue generated in Georgetown in April totaled $2,355,640, according to numbers released June 10 by the Texas comptroller of public accounts. That figure represents an increase of 0.69% compared to sales tax revenue generated in April 2019.
City officials projected an 8% decrease in April.
