Lanes north of Williams Drive on I-35 will be closed overnight for construction of the Northwest Boulevard bridge March 28-April 1, the city of Georgetown announced in a news release.

The closure will begin at 9 p.m. and is expected to end by 5 a.m., the release said.

Northbound I-35 will be reduced to one lane March 28-29, and all southbound I-35 mainlanes will be closed March 30-31, the release said. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the frontage road at the Williams Drive exit.

Southbound I-35 will be reduced to one lane April 1, it said.

Road signs have been placed to inform drivers of closures, and drivers are urged to take extra caution while in the area.

The Northwest Boulevard bridge is expected to be completed this summer, per the release.
