Two candidates file for Nov. election to fill vacant District 6 seat on Georgetown City Council

The deadline to file for a place on the ballot for elections this November was Aug. 16, and two candidates are running for the vacant District 6 seat on Georgetown City Council.

Candidates are elected by voters within their district, and the District 6 area includes the area north of University Boulevard and east of I-35 as well as Southwestern University, the downtown Square and San Gabriel Park.

The two District 6 candidates are Jake French and Chere Heintzmann. The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 election is Oct. 4, and early voting runs from Oct. 18-29.

In the early voting period, voters may cast ballots at any early voting location in Williamson County. Early voting polling places, dates and times can be found here.

On Election Day, voters may cast ballots at any voting center location in Williamson County.

District 6 is vacant due to Rachael Jonrowe resigning July 6 due to personal reasons.
