Texas Workforce Commission chair speaks at Georgetown Chamber of Commerce luncheon

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce held its quarterly Cornerstone luncheon at Reunion Ranch on March 31.

To conclude the meal, Texas Workforce Commission Chair Bryan Daniel, a longtime Georgetown resident, applauded the work of the chamber and Central Texans alike.

"I am proud of this community," Daniel said. "You look at what's going on at the square today compared to five years ago, the energy is incomprehensible. Central Texas continues to grow at such a rapid rate, so many opportunities we are seeing around us, and I think in Williamson County, we understand what happens in Taylor, happens here too; what happens in Hutto, towns that people may not have heard of six months ago, ... they know now, so it's pretty amazing all the growth we are seeing here."

Daniel also touched on pandemic-induced changes, such as working from home, the unemployment rate and innovative technical-based tactics in addition to how well the state was able to adapt.

According to the TWC website, Bryan Daniel is the chair and commissioner representing the public for the TWC. Gov. Greg Abbott appointed him to the three-member commission in 2019. Daniel serves as the representative for the public, promoting and supporting the growth of Texas’ world-class employers and talented workforce. He previously served as vice president for business development at Agricultural Workers Mutual Auto Insurance Co. and as the Texas state director of rural development in President George W. Bush's administration. Daniel is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in agricultural communications and a Master of Science in agricultural education.
