Georgetown City Council remains in favor of term limits.
Council was presented with potential revisions that if voter-approved would be made to the city charter during a workshop June 8.
The changes to term limits would confine council members to no more than three consecutive terms of three years each as council members as well as mayor, City Attorney Skye Masson said.
Council recommended there be a "cooling off" period of a suggested two to three years before interested individuals could run for office again. Council also endorsed that council members and the mayor must be at least 21 years of age on the first day of the term if they are elected or appointed to the position.
