Georgetown Utility Systems, the city of Georgetown's municipal utility authority, issued a boil-water notice Monday for water customers in portions of the Western District, an area west of Georgetown city limits that was formerly known as the Chisholm Trail SUD. Water customers, including some in areas along Hwy. 29 west of D.B. Wood Road experienced a service interruption due to a water pump outage this past weekend. The utility is repairing the out-of-service pump, and the city of Georgetown has purchased a second pump to create backup capacity. Repairs could take up to two weeks to complete, according to the city. Here’s what you need to know.
