East University Avenue will be closed from 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday between College and Walnut streets southeast of downtown Georgetown in order for crews to complete water utility repairs, according to an announcement from the city. Eastbound traffic on East University will be detoured at the College intersection, and westbound traffic will be detoured at the Walnut intersection. City officials encourage freight traffic to use South Austin Avenue and Inner Loop as a detour route during the closure.
