Collin, Denton Counties close all polling locations Jan. 26-27

Officials originally closed polling locations in both counties on Jan. 24, then extended the closure through the end of the early voting period.

The specifics

Frisco City Council Place 1 is on the Jan. 31 ballot after council member John Keating announced his resignation to run for mayor in May. The following polling locations in Frisco will be closed on Jan. 26-27:

• Collin College Frisco Campus, 9700 Wade Blvd.
• Frisco Fire Station No. 8, 14700 Rolater Road
• Frisco Fire Station No. 5, 14300 Eldorado Parkway
• The Grove at Frisco Commons, 8300 McKinney Road
• Frisco Fire Station No. 6, 3535 Eldorado Parkway
• Denton County Government Center, 5533 FM 423
• Frisco Fire Station No. 7, 330 W. Stonebrook Parkway
• Frisco Fire Station No. 4, 4485 Cotton Gin Road

Plano voters will elect a new council member for Place 7, replacing Mayor Pro Tem Julie Holmer, who announced her resignation to run for Collin County Commissioners Court. The following Plano centers will be closed Jan. 26-27:

• Carpenter Park Recreation Center, 6701 Coit Road
• Davis Library, 7501 Independence Parkway
• Haggard Library, 2501 Coit Road
• Harrington Library, 1501 18th St.
• Parr Library, 6200 Windhaven Parkway
• Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center, 5801 W. Parker Road
