Frisco’s Gallegos Park reinvestment project has wrapped after a year of work.
Built in 2004, Gallegos Park is located in Frisco’s Rail District and now features new site furnishings and updated park amenities following the $1.5 million reinvestment project.
The history
A 2019-20 assessment of city park properties first identified Gallegos Park as a priority for reinvestment and improvement, city documents state. The design and planning phase of the Gallegos Park Reinvestment Project began with public meetings in March 2023 by the city’s Parks & Recreation board.
During a June 3, 2025 Frisco City Council meeting, city officials approved a purchase order authorizing the $1.51 million Gallegos Park reinvestment. The park reinvestment project was funded by park development funds, general obligation funding and community development block grant funds.
Construction began following its temporary closure in July 2025.
What’s new?
The reinvestment project added new grading and paving, site furnishings, a playground, pavilion, sports equipment, monument signage, lighting, rubberized surfacing and a new drinking fountain.
The reinvestment project also brought a new half basketball court and dedicated workout areas to the park. Landscaping efforts were also completed, including the installation of a box culvert. The project allowed city staff to complete annual playground inspection training.
