Flower Mound Town Council heard July 17 the recommended money amounts to be disbursed to local agencies and organizations seeking help from the town.
The amount, which totaled $225,800, will be in the proposed fiscal year 2023-24 budget, which will go before council for final approval in September, said Melissa Demmitt, communications director for the town. The town provides annual funding to community support organizations that offer activities, programs and services to the residents of Flower Mound, the town states on its website. A seven-member committee, which represented various town departments, made recommendations on funding, with money for the program coming from the town’s general fund.

Community support finding is divided into two groups: cultural arts and social services. Eighteen organizations will receive funds upon approval by council.
