2. Meow Wolf Grapevine announces plans to debut exhibit in July

The debut of Meow Wolf Grapevine will happen July 14 at Grapevine Mills, according to a news release issued May 16.

The name for the exhibition—which was first announced in May 2022—will be "The Real Unreal." It will be journey through a technicolor wonderland that blends storytelling, technology and immersive art, according to the news release.

There will be more than 30 rooms of multidimensional art from a group of immersive artists that will be a part of a story conceived by author LaShawn Wanak.

3. Frisco expected to play ‘significant role’ in 2026 World Cup

Frisco was one of six North Texas cities celebrating the official #WeAreDallas brand launch May 18 with announcement attendees given a sneak peak at the official colors, merchandise and Frisco’s potential involvement in the 2026 World Cup. Frisco will likely serve as a headquarters for World Cup teams to stay and train ahead of the World Cup, Visit Frisco Sports Director Joshua Dill said.

4. Walmart cutting more than 1K jobs at e-commerce fulfillment center in Fort Worth

Walmart is laying off more than 1,000 workers at an e-commerce fulfillment center in Fort Worth.

Company officials announced the “adjusted staffing levels” for the warehouse at 5300 Westport Parkway, between Roanoke and Keller. The warehouse opened in 2013 for online orders.

Employees can apply for open positions at Walmart stores, Sam’s Club or other company facilities, according to officials with the Bentonville, Arkansas-based company. The employees’ final day for work will be June 2.

5. Connecting The Loop: Trinity Forest Spine Trail unveiled as part of $85M urban transportation project in Dallas

Dallas is set to open a new trail, the Trinity Forest Spine Trail, starting this spring. The new trail is part of a project called The Loop Dallas that will connect many of the city’s trails into a contiguous 50-mile urban trail. Overall, the $85 million project will link 39 miles of the city’s existing trails with 11 miles of four newly built trails, including the Trinity Forest Spine Trail.
