Music Lane, the forthcoming $55 million, 1.5-acre mixed-use development at 1009 and 1011 S. Congress Ave. Austin, announced its first 10 tenants in a Sept. 25 news release. The development is scheduled to be completed in spring 2020.

Dining options will include juice bar and nutritional health store SunLife Organics; local gelato shop and cocktail bar Gelateria Gemelli; and Chicago-based Mediterranean restaurant Aba.

Retail tenants will include local fine jewelry designer Nak Armstrong; Houston-based apothecary goods, candle and apparel store Manready Mercantile; bedroom goods store Tuft & Needle; women’s sustainable fashion brand Reformation; New York-based luxury perfume brand Le Labo; and classic American apparel retailer Buck Mason.

Additionally, the global architecture and design firm Gensler—which has worked on a number of local high-profile projects, including the Austin FC Major League Soccer stadium and Domain Northside—will open an office at Music Lane.

Previously announced tenants include the London-based members-only club Soho House—which will feature a hotel, club and restaurant, according to a brochure released by the project’s developer Endeavor Real Estate Group—and upscale gym Equinox.

Additional tenants will be announced in the coming months, per the release. There will be 25 total.

The development will consist of two three-story buildings and one four-story building, per the release. It is being developed by real estate investment and development firm Turnbridge Equities, which is headquartered in New York, along with local developers Clark Lyda and Austin Pfeister.

Music Lane is one of a handful of new developments under construction on or around South Congress Avenue. Others include the South Central Waterfront initiative, which will guide the redevelopment of 118 acres along Lady Bird Lake, including the Austin American-Statesman property; Hummingbird, a mixed-use development that will occupy a vacant lot between Italian restaurant Vespaio and South Congress Books; and two forthcoming mixed-use projects from PSW Real Estate on South First Street.
