Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club—a mixed-use development that broke ground in January in the city of Dripping Springs’ extraterritorial jurisdiction—is on schedule to open its golf course by early summer of 2020, according to David Rhoades, project president at Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club.
According to a news release by developer Discovery Land Company, the 800-acre community will include about 310 homesites, 70 acres used as a vineyard and an 18-hole golf course with a clubhouse.
A development agreement for the project was approved by Dripping Springs City Council on Jan. 8.
The site is located near the intersection of FM 1826 and FM 967, with the golf course aspect of the development located on the southeast corner.
Discovery Land Company in April also opened a new private club for members, Driftwood Downtown, at 319 Colorado St., in downtown Austin. The multifloor club includes multiple bars, televisions and an indoor golf simulator, according to the developer.
