Construction began in March on a new high-end apartment community in Katy.

Seville at Clay Crossing—located at 21919 Clay Road, Katy—will have 351 units, with one, two and three bedroom floor plans, according to a press release. Units will range from 684 square feet to 1,640 square feet in both flat and townhome-style layouts, and rents will range between $1,060-$2,040.

Units at Seville at Clay Crossing are expected to be ready for occupancy in fall or winter 2019, according to the release.

The apartment homes will feature island kitchens, stone countertops and tile backsplashes, per the release. Some units will have attached garages. Additionally, the complex will have 8,000 square feet for amenities including a fitness center, yoga studio, pool, fire pit, grilling station and a club room.

The complex is being constructed on a 15.2-acre site by Blazer Building Texas LLC, a Houston-based construction company. Seville at Clay Crossing was designed by Mucasey & Associates, a Houston-based architecture firm. Construction financing was provided by Trustmark Bank.

As of November 2018, there were about 2,000 apartment units from six complexes under construction in the Katy area, according to Apartment Data Services. When they are complete in 2020, the Katy area will have about 20,000 units.
